The Merry Widow

This production served as my senior thesis at Pepperdine University and was an incredibly rewarding experience. I had the privilege of working alongside a talented team of designers and a remarkable cast. It was my first time designing for an opera, and it was truly inspiring to see the vocal and visual elements come together so powerfully. I particularly enjoyed the challenge of constructing a lighting plot that worked within the constraints of the scenic design and the creative problem-solving that entailed. Additionally, I found the fast-paced nature of the process exciting—programming and refining the design during a condensed two-day tech period pushed me to work efficiently and make thoughtful decisions quickly.
