SpongeBob The Musical

Designing the lighting for SpongeBob the Musical was an incredibly fun and creatively liberating experience. The show’s vibrant, over-the-top world gave me full permission to lean into bold color choices, exaggerated movement, and completely unrealistic lighting effects. From explosive underwater neons to fast-paced chases of saturated color, I got to push the boundaries of traditional design and create a whimsical, high-energy atmosphere that matched the musical’s nonstop momentum and cartoon logic. It was a joyful challenge to bring Bikini Bottom to life through light, and an absolute blast to let imagination take the lead.
